Sightseeing in Pune

First of all I must tell you about last nights dinner at the hotel buffet. There was a choice of soups, a pond water lookalike or Chicken Noodle so himself and I opted for that. We took two spoonfuls and looked at each other in horror. "I can't feel my mouth" he said we then collapsed into a fit of hysterical laughing. The waiter asked what the joke was :) we explained it should be called Chilli Noodle soup. I ate a whole plate of cucumber after that.
This morning we had breakfast then went on a cultural tour of Pune starting off at the Agha Khan's Palace which is where Ghandi was incarcerated for many years

along with his wife and servant who both died whilst there.
We moved on to the Tribal cultural centre which was quite interesting

Then on to the zoo which was really boring! We played spot the animals for about 1/2 an hour before leaving.
We went to the Bhuddist temple which was stunning in the midday sun 36c, at the top of 300 odd step climb.
Our next stop was at Shaniwar Wadi Fort where the guide took great pleasure in telling us the British burnt the 7 storey wooden building down!

Our last stop was at Budhawar temple
before insisting on going to Dominos  for a late lunch then home for s swim.
We got back and found we'd been upgraded- think it was my calling card again!
